It is made of stoneware pottery ceramic and has a very unique brown, ochre coloration and surface structure. the bottom is marked with typical Liebenthron Producer signature GL and year signature 75. A very collectible and very rare item of the Liebenthron Collection. the object has a very sculptural form and in its size of 39 cm in height and 22 cm in width, it is very impressive. VITA Liebenthron: From 1945-1951 Liebenthron studied at the Staatliche Kunstschule Bremen (school of arts) in the pottery class of Else Krieg & Dorothea Colberg-Tjadens. in 1951 Liebenthron has been the Assistant of the sculptor Prof. Goersemann there. After Liebenthron finished his time at the Kunstschule he opened his own workshop in the Boettcherstrae, Bremen (in 1952). Gerhard Liebenthron's work can be found in several museums in Germany. the Keramik Museum in Berlin, the Focke Museum in Bremen and the Hetiens Museum in Dsseldorf for example.
