Description:
In Japan, composer Patrick Hawes is known only among some chorus lovers. In his native England, however, he is extremely popular, and many choirs have performed his works. In this album, the Canadian ensemble Elora Singers sings in exquisite harmony in "Revelation" and "Bliss," texts taken from the Bible, as well as his latest work, composed in 2016. The music, which Hawes says is all about "purity," is simply beautiful and moving. Quanta Qualia," the last piece on the album, is a short piece with a saxophone solo. Recorded in 2016. (C)RS
